Ring ID: the range is from 1 to 255.
Conguring the Control VLAN
Control and member VLANS are congured normally for Layer 2. Their status as control or member is determined at the FRRP group
commands.
For more information about conguring VLANS in Layer 2 mode, refer to Layer 2.
Be sure to follow these guidelines:
All VLANS must be in Layer 2 mode.
You can only add ring nodes to the VLAN.
A control VLAN can belong to one FRRP group only.
Tag control VLAN ports.
All ports on the ring must use the same VLAN ID for the control VLAN.
You cannot congure a VLAN as both a control VLAN and member VLAN on the same ring.
Only two interfaces can be members of a control VLAN (the Master Primary and Secondary ports).
Member VLANs across multiple rings are not supported in Master nodes.
To create the control VLAN for this FRRP group, use the following commands on the switch that is to act as the Master node.
1 Create a VLAN with this ID number.
CONFIGURATION mode.
interface vlan vlan-id
