Usage
Information
Use this command to create an object that tracks the routing state of an IPv4 Layer 3 interface:
● The status of the IPv4 interface is UP only if the Layer 3 status of the interface is UP and the
interface has a valid IP address.
● The Layer 3 status of an IPv4 interface goes DOWN when its Layer 3 status goes down (for a Layer 3
VLAN, all VLAN ports must be down) or the IP address is removed from the routing table.

C9000 Series
Syntax
track object-id interface interface line-protocol
To return to the default setting, use the no track object-id command.
Parameters
object-id
Enter the ID number of the tracked object. The range is 1 to 500.
interface
Enter one of the following values:
● For a 1-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter gigabitethernet and the slot-
number/ port-number.
● For a Loopback interface, enter the keyword loopback then a number from 0
to 16383.
● For a port channel interface, enter the keywords port-channel then a
number.
● For a 10-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter tengigabitethernet and the
slot-number/ port-number.
● For a VLAN interface, enter the keyword vlan then a number from 1 to 4094.
