Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
(DHCP)
Dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) is an application layer protocol that dynamically assigns IP addresses and other
configuration parameters to network end-stations (hosts) based on the configuration policies the network administrators
determine.
The Dell Networking OS supports the basic DHCP commands as described in the following sections:

To configure the system to be a DHCP server and to manually configure DHCP clients, use the following commands.
clear ip dhcp
Reset the DHCP counters.

clear ip dhcp [binding {address} | client statistics {all | interface type
slot/port}| conflict | server statistics]
Parameters
binding Enter the keyword binding to delete all entries in the binding table.
address
Enter the IP address to clear the binding entry for a single IP address.
client statistics
{all | interface
type
slot/port
}
Enter the keywords server statistics all to clear all counter information
on all DHCP client interfaces on the switch. Enter an interface type and slot/port
information to clear DHCP counters on a specified interface. The valid interface
types are:
For a 10-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword
tengigabitethernet.
For a 40-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword fortyGigE.
conflicts Enter the keyword conflicts to delete all of the log entries created for IP
address conflicts.
server statistics Enter the keywords server statistics to clear all counter information on the
DHCP server.
