Syntax
distance weight [ip-address mask [prefix-list]]
To return to the default values, use the no distance weight command.
Parameters
weight
The administrative distance value indicates the reliability of a routing information
source. The range is from 1 to 255. (A higher relative value indicates lower
reliability. Routes with smaller values are given preference.) The default is 115.
ip-address mask
(OPTIONAL) Enter next-hop IP address in dotted decimal format and enter a mask
in either dotted decimal or /prefix format.
prefix-list
(OPTIONAL) Enter the name of a prefix list name.
Defaults weight = 115

Usage
Information
The administrative distance indicates the trust value of incoming packets. A low administrative distance
indicates a high trust rate. A high value indicates a lower trust rate. For example, a weight of 255 is
interpreted that the routing information source is not trustworthy and should be ignored.
