For a port channel interface, enter the keyword port-channel and a the port-
channel ID.
For a remote VLAN interface, enter the keyword Remote-VLAN and a vlan-id
number. Range is from 1 to 4094

Enter the one of the following keywords and slot/port information:
For a 10-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword TenGigabitEthernet then
the slot/port information.
For a 40-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword fortyGigE then the slot/
port information.
For a VLAN interface, enter the keyword VLAN and a vlan-id number. Range is from 1
to 4094.
For a port channel interface, enter the keyword port-channel amd a the port-
channel ID.
direction {rx | tx |
both}
Enter the keyword direction then one of the packet directional indicators.
rx: to monitor receiving packets only.
tx: to monitor transmitting packets only.
both: to monitor both transmitting and receiving packets.

Usage Information
You can configure a port extender (PE) Gigabit Ethernet peGigE port as a source port in the source (port
monitoring) command and monitor traffic flow on this port. You cannot configure a cascade port as a
destination port.
