32 RACADM Subcommands
NOTE: When using FTP, if the full path to the image file is provided on the CLI, then
that path is used to locate that file on the host. If a path is not provided, then the
home directory of the specified user is searched for the file if the host system is
running Linux or some other variant of UNIX. If the host system is running Windows,
the a default folder (like ftproot) is searched.
-m <target> Specifies the target, or device, to be updated. <target> is one of
the following values:
cmc-active
(default)
cmc-standby
kvm
server-
n

iDRAC6

= 1–6
NOTE: The cmc-active and cmc-standby targets,
as well as one or more
server-n targets, can be
entered together so that those devices can be updated
together.
NOTE: See "Updating the IOM Infrastructure Device Firmware"
section of the "Using the CMC Web Interface" chapter of
the Chassis Management Controller 2.0 User’s Guide for
additional information on the IOM infrastructure device
firmware update process.
NOTE: When the server-generation option is used,
the CMC updates all updateable iDRAC's of that
particular generation.
NOTE: Verify that the update applied to servers for a particular
generation has been validated for all affected server
models.
-s
Displays the current status of the firmware update.
-c
Cancels the current firmware update.
