Field Description
Common Name The exact name being certified (usually the Web server's
domain name, for example, www.xyzcompany.com/).
Val id: Alphanumeric characters (A–Z, a–z, 0–9); hyphens,
underscores, and periods.
Not valid: Non-alphanumeric characters not noted above (such
as, but not limited to, @ # $ % & *); characters used primarily
in non-English languages, such as ß, å, é, ü.
Organization Name The name associated with your organization (example: XYZ
Corporation).
Val id: Alphanumeric characters (A–Z, a–z, 0–9); hyphens,
underscores, periods, and spaces.
Not valid: Non-alphanumeric characters not noted above (such
as, but not limited to, @ # $ % & *).
Organization Unit The name associated with an organizational unit, such as a
department (example: Enterprise Group).
Val id: Alphanumeric characters (A–Z, a–z, 0–9); hyphens,
underscores, periods, and spaces.
Not valid: Non-alphanumeric characters not noted above (such
as, but not limited to, @ # $ % & *).
Locality The city or other location of your organization (examples:
Atlanta, Hong Kong).
Val id: Alphanumeric characters (A–Z, a–z, 0–9) and spaces.
Not Valid: Non-alphanumeric characters not noted above (such
as, but not limited to, @ # $ % & *).
State The state, province, or territory where the entity that is applying
for a certification is located (examples: Te xas , New South
Wales, Andhra Pradesh).
NOTE: Do not use abbreviations.
Val id: Alphanumeric characters (upper- and lower-case letters;
0–9); and spaces.
Not valid: Non-alphanumeric characters not noted above (such
as, but not limited to, @ # $ % & *).
