6. Click Edit.
The Edit Advanced Settings dialog box opens.
7. Type the maximum amount of memory to allocate to the Data Collector in the Maximum Server Memory Usage box.
8. Click OK.
The Data Collector Restart dialog box opens.
9. Click Yes.
The Data Collector service stops and restarts.
Set the Maximum Memory for a Data Collector on a Virtual Appliance
Use the Edit Settings dialog box the vSphere Web Client to set the maximum amount of memory to allocate to a Data Collector on a
Virtual Appliance.
Steps
1. In the vSphere Web Client, right-click on the Storage Manager Virtual Appliance and select Power > Shut Down Guest OS to shut
down the Virtual Appliance.
2. Right-click on the Virtual Appliance and select Edit Settings.
The Edit Settings dialog box opens.
3. Type the maximum amount of memory to allocate for the Virtual Appliance in the Memory field.
4. Right-click on the Storage Manager Virtual Appliance and select Power > Power On to start the Virtual Appliance
Select a Network Adapter
The Data Collector attempts to automatically select the network adapter to use by default. If the host server has multiple network
adapters, automatic detection can fail and the network adapter must be selected manually.
Prerequisites
The network adapter must have connectivity to the devices managed by Storage Manager Client.
NOTE: The Data Collector must be restarted to save network adapter changes.
Steps
1. Connect to the Data Collector.
a) Open a web browser.
b) Type the address of the Data Collector in the web browser using the following format:
https://data_collector_host_name_or_IP_address:3033/
c) Press Enter.
The Unisphere Central login page is displayed.
d) Type the user name and password of a Data Collector user with Administrator privileges in the User Name and Password field.
e) Click Log In.

If a Storage Center is selected from the drop-down list in Unisphere Central, click
(Home).
The Unisphere Central Home page is displayed.
3. Click Data Collector.
The Data Collector view is displayed.
4. Click the General tab, and then click the Summary subtab.
5. Expand the Advanced area located below the License Information section.
6. Click Edit.
The Edit Advanced Settings dialog box opens.
7. To select a network adapter, clear the Automatically Select Network Adapter checkbox and select a network adapter from the
drop-down menu.
To allow the Data Collector to select a network adapter, select the Automatically Select Network Adapter checkbox.
8. Click OK.
The Data Collector Restart dialog box opens.
9. Click Yes.
The Data Collector service stops and restarts.
