Installing the expander board
Prerequisites
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only
perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as
directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is
not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions
that came with the product.
Ensure that you read the Safety instructions.
Steps
1. Install the expander board into the chassis.
2. Secure the expander board with the six screws.
3. Push the handle to install the expander board bracket into the chassis and secure the bracket with the
two screws.
4. Install the PSUs.

3. Remove the server sled.
Steps
1. Disconnect all cables from the paddle board.
2. Remove the two screws on the paddle board and lift it away from the server sled.
