Default An OS10 switch retransmits a RADIUS authentication request three times.
Command Mode CONFIGURATION
Usage
Information
Use this command to globally configure the number of retransmit attempts allowed for authentication
requests on RADIUS servers.
Supported on the MX9116n and MX5108n switches in Full Switch mode starting in release 10.4.0E(R3S).
Also supported in SmartFabric mode starting in release 10.5.0.1.
The no version of this command resets the value to the default.

radius-server timeout
Configures the timeout used to resend RADIUS authentication requests.
Syntax
radius-server timeout seconds
Parameters seconds — Enter the time in seconds for retransmission, from 1 to 100.
Default An OS10 switch stops sending RADIUS authentication requests after five seconds.

Use this command to globally configure the timeout value used on RADIUS servers.
Supported on the MX9116n and MX5108n switches in Full Switch mode starting in release 10.4.0E(R3S).
Also supported in SmartFabric mode starting in release 10.5.0.1.

radius-server vrf
Configures the RADIUS server for the management or non-default VRF instance.
Syntax
radius-server vrf {management | vrf-name}
Parameters
● management — Enter the keyword to configure the RADIUS server for the management VRF
instance.
● vrf-name — Enter the keyword then the name of the VRF to configure the RADIUS server for that
non-default VRF instance.

Information
Use this command to associate RADIUS servers with a VRF. If you do not configure a VRF on the RADIUS
server list, the servers are on the default VRF. RADIUS server lists and VRFs have one-to-one mapping.
The no version of this command removes the RADIUS server from the management VRF instance.
