Create or remove VLANs
You can create VLANs and add physical interfaces or port-channel LAG interfaces to the VLAN as tagged or untagged
members. You can add an Ethernet interface as a trunk port or as an access port, but it cannot be added as both at the same
time.

The shutdown command stops L3–routed traffic only. L2 traffic continues to pass through the VLAN. If the VLAN is not a
routed VLAN configured with an IP address, the shutdown command has no effect on VLAN traffic.
When you delete a VLAN using the no interface vlan vlan-id command, any interfaces assigned to that VLAN are
assigned to the default VLAN as untagged interfaces.
To configure a port-based VLAN, enter INTERFACE-VLAN mode for VLAN-related configuration tasks and create a VLAN. To
enable the VLAN, assign member interfaces in L2 mode.
1. Create a VLAN and enter the VLAN number in INTERFACE mode, from 1 to 4093.
interface vlan vlan-id
2. Delete a VLAN in CONFIGURATION mode.
