About this guide
This guide is intended for system administrators who are responsible for configuring and maintaining networks. It covers the
following details:
Installation and set up of Dell EMC SmartFabric OS10.
Description, configuration information, and examples of features that SmartFabric OS10 supports.
Reference information and examples on configuring protocols. For complete information about protocols, see the related
documentation, including Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and Request For Comments (RFC).
Command reference information for all the SmartFabric OS10 CLI commands.
To use this guide, you must have a good knowledge of Layer 2 (L2) and Layer 3 (L3) networking technologies.
Conventions
This guide uses the following conventions to describe command syntax.
Keyword
Keywords are in Courier (a monospaced font) and must be entered in the CLI as listed.
parameter
Parameters are in italics and require a number or word to be entered in the CLI.
{X} Keywords and parameters within braces must be entered in the CLI.
[X] Keywords and parameters within brackets are optional.
x|y Keywords and parameters separated by a bar require you to choose one option.
