logging file
Use the logging file command in Global Configuration mode to limit
SYSLOG messages sent to the logging file based on severity. To set the
default logging level, use the no form of this command.
Syntax
logging file [severitylevel-number | type]
no logging file
severity–level—(Optional) The number or name of the desired severity
level. Range:
[0 | emergencies]
[1 | alerts]
[2 | critical]
[3 | errors]
[4 | warnings]
[5 | notifications]
[6 | informational]
[7 | debugging]
Default Configuration
The default severity level is emergencies.

User Guidelines
Debug level messages are intended for use by support personnel. The output
is voluminous, cryptic, and because of the large number of messages
generated, can adversely affect switch operations. Only set the logging level to
debug under the direction of support personnel.
