Configuring MSTP Switch Settings
Use the following commands to configure MSTP settings for the switch.
show spanning-tree
interface
View spanning tree configuration information for the
specified port or LAG (port-channel).
Command Purpose
configure Enter global configuration mode.
spanning-tree mst
configuration
Enable configuring an MST region by entering the
multiple spanning tree (MST) mode.
name
string
Define the MST configuration name. This step is required
to establish an MST domain.
revision
version
Identify the MST configuration revision number.
instance
instance-id
{add | remove} vlan
vlan-list
Map VLANs to an MST instance.
vlan-list —
One or more VLANs to be added to the
existing MST instance. To specify a range of VLANs, use
a hyphen. To specify a series of VLANs, use a comma.
(Range: 1-4093)
exit Return to global configuration mode.
spanning-tree mst
instance-id
priority
priority
Set the switch priority for the specified spanning tree
instance.
instance-id —
ID of the spanning tree instance. (Range:
1-4094)
priority
Sets the switch priority for the specified
spanning tree instance. This setting affects the likelihood
that the switch is selected as the root switch. A lower
value increases the probability that the switch is selected
as the root switch. (Range: 0-61440)
CTRL + Z Exit to Privileged Exec mode.
show spanning-tree mst-
configuration
View multiple spanning tree configuration information.
show spanning-tree
instance
instance-id
View information about the specified MSTI.
