Syntax
telnet {

ip-address
—Valid IPv4 address of the destination host.
hostname
—Hostname of the destination host. (Range: 1–256
characters).
port
—A decimal TCP port number.
keyword
—One or more keywords from the keywords table in the user
guidelines (see
Keywords Table
below).

Telnet TCP port (decimal 23) on the host.

User Guidelines
The hostname parameter may be a fully or partially qualified domain name. A
hostname consists of a series of labels separated by periods. Each label may be
a maximum of 63 characters in length. The maximum length of the
hostname parameter is 256 characters. Refer to RFC 1035 Section 2.3.1 for
more information.
Example
Following is an example of using the telnet command to connect to
176.213.10.50.
Options Description
/debug Enable telnet debugging mode.
/line Enable telnet linemode.
/localecho Enable telnet localecho.
<cr> Press ENTER to execute the command.
port
Enter the TCP port number.
