console(config)# aaa authentication dot1x default none
The following example configures 802.1x authentication to use a RADIUS
server. A RADIUS server must be configured previously using the radius
server host auth command for the radius method to succeed.
console(config)#aaa authentication dot1x default radius
aaa authentication enable
Use the aaa authentication enable command in Global Configuration mode
to set authentication for accessing higher administrator privilege levels when
logged in to the switch console. To return to the default configuration, use
the no form of this command.
Syntax
aaa authentication enable {default | list-name} {method1 [method2...]}
no aaa authentication enable {default | list-name}
• default — Uses the listed authentication methods that follow this
argument as the default list of methods, when using higher privilege levels.
• list-name — Character string used to name the list of authentication
methods activated, when using access higher privilege levels. (Range: 1-15
characters)
• method1 [ method2... ] — Specify at least one from the following table:
Default Configuration
The default enable list is enableList. It is used by console, telnet, and SSH
and only contains the method enable and none.
Keyword Source or destination
enable Uses the enable password for authentication.
line Uses the line password for authentication.
none Uses no authentication.
radius Uses the list of all RADIUS servers for authentication.
tacacs Uses the list of all TACACS+ servers for authentication.
