4 Testing
4.1 Test objectives
The testing and validation processes involve several test phases designed to ensure the storage will meet all
throughput and latency requirements. The goal is to ensure the storage will meet all stated performance
targets.
4.2 Test tools
The test tool used was designed by Login VSI consultants. It delivers a predictable and repeatable workload
to benchmark VDI environments. It includes multiple applications to generate, monitor, and report on the
workload chosen.
4.2.1 Load generation
The Login VSI management console controls several tools and provides the interface for accessing them.
The workload is generated using a set of launcher machines. These launcher machines create VMware
Horizon client connections to the VMs being tested. For these tests each launcher VM initiated 26 active
sessions.
The workload used was the included Knowledge Worker simulation. This generated approximately 12
IOPS/VM.
4.2.2 Load monitoring
