Troubleshoot Network Connection
For pre-boot authentication to succeed on a computer with UEFI firmware, the PBA mode must have network connectivity.
By default, computers with UEFI firmware do not have network connectivity until the operating system is loaded, which
occurs after PBA mode. If the computer procedure outlined in Pre-Installation Configuration for UEFI Computers is
successful and is configured properly, the network connection icon displays on the pre-boot authentication screen when
the computer is connected to the network.
Check the network cable to ensure it is connected to the computer if the network connection icon still does not display
during pre-boot authentication. Restart the computer to restart PBA mode if it was not connected or was loose.
