When a Dell® PowerEdge server is ordered with the Auto-Discovery option enabled, the iDRAC will
233
come from the factory with DHCP enabled and no default credentials for a remote login. Following the
234
acquisition of an provisioning server address for the management console \with one of the above
235
alternatives, the iDRAC uses the discovered address to initiate a TLS connection (the handshake) that
236
receives a new username and password. The receipt of this username and password is the end goal of
237
the discovery and handshake process. These credentials are used by the remote console for subsequent
238
configuration using WS-Man or remote RACADM. Figure 2 illustrates the provisioning server address
239
discovery process that iDRAC uses to acquire the provisioning server address prior to attempting to setup
240
an TLS handshake with the provisioning server.
