Generate and Email Diagnostic Reports Wizard
Diagnostic reports are stored on both the FS Series and PS Series arrays. Although both types of diagnostics are run, only the
PS Series diagnostic report is emailed automatically to your Dell Technical Support representative. Due to the size of the FS Series
diagnostics output, that diagnostic report can be stored only on the array.
NOTE:
If you are troubleshooting a problem with a PS Series system and have SupportAssist enabled, SupportAssist might
provide a more detailed diagnostic report on the system. Contact Dell Technical Support to nd out if SupportAssist could
help you.
If you want to make NAS cluster diagnostics available through FTP, you must enable FTP on the NAS cluster.
If you are using SupportAssist and Email Home, before running this wizard run SupportAssist.
The wizard consists of the pages that are described in the following sections.
Welcome
The Welcome page provides an overview of the purpose of the diagnostic report feature.
Dell customer support uses diagnostic reports to troubleshoot a problem. You can generate the report before contacting
Dell customer support for assistance. If you are working with a support representative when you generate the report, you can
associate the report with the number assigned to your support case.
All diagnostic types are selected to run on all controllers, enabling your support representative to analyze the most complete
diagnostic report for your system. You can limit the diagnostics that are run, but you must run at least one type of diagnostics to
generate a report.
