Select the Enable data reduction checkbox to activate the Modify policy button.
Enabling data reduction permanently removes the snapshot reserve functionality
from the NAS container.
Warning limit Percentage of the snapshot reserve that, when reached by in-use snapshot reserve,
causes an event message to be sent. The minimum in-use space warning limit is
10% of the snapshot reserve; the maximum is 100%.

Field Description Shortcut
User Name User name for the NDMP server. The default user name is backup_user. You can
modify the user name. User names can contain up to 63 ASCII characters, and can
include hyphens and underscores.

Password You must specify a password. The default NDMP password is a randomized string of
characters and must be changed before taking the rst backup. NDMP passwords
accept up to 32 ASCII characters, spaces, and punctuation except quotation marks.

Conrm Password Retype the password to conrm it. Alt+M
Port Species the port (default is 10000) on which the NDMP server “listens” for
incoming connections from a DMA server. You can specify a dierent value for the
port.
Changing this value to an in-use port disables the NDMP service. To correct this
situation, change the port number to an unused value and then enable the NDMP
service.

Field Description
Add Adds a DMA server IP address. You can specify up to three addresses.
Modify Modies the selected IP address
Delete Deletes the selected IP address
NOTE:
You must have snapshot reserve to use the Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP) to facilitate NAS container
backup operations.
Select the Enable data reduction checkbox to activate the Modify policy button. Enabling data reduction permanently
removes the snapshot reserve functionality from the NAS container.
