Set Up a Serial Connection to the Array
Ifyouplantousethesetuputilitytoconfigurethesoftware,youmustsetupaserialconnectionbetweenthe
arrayandacomputer.IfyouplantousetheRemoteSetupwizard,youdonotneedaserialconnection.For
informationaboutRemoteSetupwizardrequirements,seetheHost Integration Tool for Microsoft® Installation
and User's GuideortheHost Integration Tool for Linux® Installation and User's Guide.
Theserialcableshippedwiththearrayisastandardnull-modemcablewithafemaleDB9connectoroneach
end.Youmighthavetomakeorbuyanadaptercable(oneDB9connectorandoneRJ45connector)toconnect
thearraytosometerminalservermodels.SeeSerial Cable Pinout Information on page 15.
Attachthecabletotheserialportontheactivecontrolmoduleandtoaconsoleterminaloracomputerrunninga
terminalemulator.TheactivecontrolmodulehastwogreenLEDSandthesecondarycontrolmodulehasone
greenandoneamberLED.
