General properties
Name Unique name, up to 63 characters (including periods, hyphens, and colons), that
identies the member.
Alt+A
Description (Optional) Description of the member, up to 127 characters. Fewer characters are
accepted for this eld if you enter the value as a Unicode character string, which
takes up a variable number of bytes, depending on the specic character.
Alt+D
Storage pool assignment
Storage pool assignment If multiple pools are available, you can choose which pool the member will belong to.
Alternatively, click Create new pool to create a new storage pool using this member.

RAID policy Select the RAID level that you want the member to use.
NOTE: You cannot select RAID 50 for PS6610 arrays from the GUI. Instead,
you must use the CLI command member select raid-policy. See the

RAID 6: Alt+6
RAID 10: Alt+1
RAID 50: Alt+0
Initial RAID capacity Specify whether the member’s space will be available immediately or available after
the RAID conguration completes.
Immediate: Alt+I

Field Description
IP address IP address of the interface. At least one network interface on a member must be on the
same subnet as the group IP address.
Subnet mask Netmask for the interface
Default gateway Uses the default gateway for all the member's network interfaces to enable communication
outside the local network
Enable this interface Makes a network interface operational if you congure it properly. Disabling a network
interface makes it unable to service network I/O requests, but does not uncongure the
interface.
Restrict to management access Displayed only for the highest-numbered interface on a control module, or the one that is
labeled Management on the physical control module.
Select this checkbox to use the interface exclusively for group management trac, as part
of conguring a group management network.
