Determine Where to Place the Mounting Rails in the Rack
Makesurethereisenoughspaceintherackforthechassis.Inastandardrack,a2Uchassiswillspansixholes
anda4Uchassiswillspan12holes.
Installing the Rails and Array in a Rack
Installtherailsintherackfollowingthesafetyinstructionsandtherackinstallationinstructionsprovidedwith
yourrailkit.
Ifinstalledinaclosedormulti-unitrackassembly,theoperatingtemperatureoftherackenvironmentmightbe
greaterthanroomambient.Therefore,makesureyouinstallthearrayinanenvironmentcompatiblewiththe
maximumtemperaturespecifiedbythemanufacturer.Formoreinformation,seeTechnical Specifications on
page 31.
