Use the Group Manager GUI or CLI to set the RAID policy for the member. You can then create a
volume that a host can connect to using an iSCSI initiator.

Using the Remote Setup Wizard to Configure the Software
TheRemoteSetupwizardislocatedontheHostIntegrationToolsCD-ROMandmustbeinstalledona
WindowsoraLinuxcomputer.TheHost Integration ToolsUser Guide providesdetailedinformationaboutusing
thefullcapabilitiesoftheRemoteSetupwizard.
ToruntheRemoteSetupwizard,followthesesteps:
1. UseacomputerthatmeetstherequirementsinChoose a Configuration Method on page 17.
2. ObtaintheHostIntegrationToolsCD-ROMfromtheshippingbox,ordownloadtheHostIntegrationTools
kitfromthesupportwebsite.
3. InstalltheRemoteSetupwizardfollowingtheinstructionsintheHostIntegrationToolsdocumentation.
4. StarttheRemoteSetupwizardbyclicking:
Start, Programs, EqualLogic, Remote Setup Wizard
5. IntheWelcomedialogbox,selectInitialize a PS Series arrayandclick Next.
Note: Ifyoucannotcontactthearray,checkthenetworkconfiguration.Youmightneedtousethesetup
utilitytoconfigurethesoftware.
6. SelectthearraythatyouwanttoinitializeandclickNext.
7. IntheInitializeArraydialogbox,enterthearrayconfigurationfromTable6andchoosetocreateagroupor
joinanexistinggroup.Then,clickNext.
8. IntheCreateaNewGrouporJoinanExistingGroupdialogbox,enterthegroupconfigurationfromTable7
andclickNext.
9. ClickFinishtoexitthewizard.
Ifyouaddedthearraytoanexistinggroup,youmustsetthemember’sRAIDpolicyinordertousethedisk
storage.GotoSet the Member RAID Policy on page 20.
Ifyoucreatedanewgroup,gotoChapter 5, Storage Allocation.
Set the Member RAID Policy
Thestoragespaceinanewgroupmember(array)isnotavailableuntilyouconfigureaRAIDpolicyonthe
member.
ARAIDpolicyconsistsofaRAIDlevelandasparediskconfiguration.WhenyouselectaRAIDpolicy,the
member’sdisksareautomaticallyconfiguredwiththeselectedRAIDlevelandtheappropriatenumberofspare
disks.
IfyouusedtheRemoteSetupwizardtocreateagroup,theRAIDpolicyforthefirstmemberissetaccordingto
yourRAIDpolicyselectionwhenconfiguringthesoftware,andthestorageisreadytouse.SeeStorage
Allocation on page 23.
