Clone Volume Wizard
You can clone a volume, including a template volume or a thin clone volume. Cloning creates new copies of a volume that are the
same type and have the same contents as the original volume.

General properties
Name Name can be up to 63 bytes and is case-insensitive. You can use any printable
Unicode character except for ! " # $ % & ' ( ) * + , / ; < = > ?@ [ \ ] ^ _ ` { | } ~.
First and last characters cannot be a period, hyphen, or colon. Fewer characters are
accepted for this eld if you type the value as a Unicode character string, which
takes up a variable number of bytes, depending on the specic character.
Alt+A
Description
(Optional) Description for the clone, up to 127 characters. Fewer characters are
accepted for this eld if you type the value as a Unicode character string, which
takes up a variable number of bytes, depending on the specic character.
Alt+D
Storage pool Storage pool to which the clone will belong (matching that of the original volume) Alt+S
Folder
Create volume in folder (Optional) Folder to place this clone in Alt+F
Storage pool assignment
Storage pool assignment Displays all the pools within the group, information about each pool (name, capacity,
free space, drives, pool encryption), and which pool the clone will be created in

Field Description Shortcut
Volume space
Volume size Size of the volume. The size cannot be changed because you are making a clone of
the original volume. If cloning from a thin-provisioned volume, you can change the
space allocation (with the slider bar) for the new volume. The group updates the
values in the Pool Space table, based on the space settings.
Alt+S
Thin provisioned volume
(use sliders to adjust
settings)
Shows whether or not the original volume was thin provisioned. If it is selected, you
can adjust the sliders to readjust space settings
Alt+T
Snapshot space
Snapshot reserve
(percent of volume
reserve)
Sets the percentage of the volume reserve to delegate to snapshots Alt+R
Reported volume size
size
Shows the total size of the volume, and the amount of in-use space and free space
on the volume.
Estimated changes in
storage pool pool
Shows the dierences between the amount of current space and new space in the
specied pool for these categories: volume reserve, snapshot reserve, replication
reserve, delegate space, free pool space, and the amount of space available for
borrowing.
