Send email alerts to
Customer Support
(email home)
If a hardware component fails or if you update rmware, the group can automatically
notify customer support through email. Dell recommends that you enable Email
Home to expedite customer support becoming engaged in solving any problems.
Email Home is available to all PS Series customers, but response time and assistance
is based on the terms of your support contract. Hardware health conditions and
rmware updates are the only alerts that are currently sent to Customer Support
using the Email Home option.

SMTP servers (in order
of preference)
Lists the SMTP servers used for sending email messages. You can congure a
maximum of 3 servers. Messages are sent through the highest priority server
available. Options include adding, modifying, or deleting servers, and raising or
lowering their preference.
None
Sender email address Address email messages are sent “from.” Use this eld when sending messages
through the SMTP servers that you specied.

Enter Maintenance Mode Message

Field Description Shortcut
Yes Enters maintenance mode, closing all client connections. You must enter this mode
to change the PS Series group IP address (for example, because of network
changes in your environment or because you congured a management network for
the group). You also must be in this mode to move NAS hardware to a dierent
location. Connections can be established again after you leave maintenance mode.
Alt+Y
No Does not enter maintenance mode. All client connections remain untouched. Alt+N
