Getting Started
The Getting Started page enables you to associate the diagnostic reports with a support case that you have opened with Dell
Technical Support and select the diagnostics to run. All diagnostics are initially selected.
NOTE: The Generate PS Series diagnostics and Generate NAS cluster diagnostics options appear only if NAS is
congured on the system.

Field Description Shortcut
Case number Assigned by Dell customer support for an issue that you are troubleshooting using
the diagnostic report. A case number is a numerical value, 4 to 10 digits in length,
with no leading zeroes. If you have not contacted Dell customer support, leave this
eld blank.
You cannot continue to the next screen if the case number format is not correct.

Generate PS Series
diagnostics
Use PS Series diagnostics to obtain information about the array. By default, these
diagnostics are selected.
You will be able to select the members for which to generate diagnostic report on
the PS Series Diagnostics – Select Members screen.
The PS Series diagnostic report is emailed to your Dell customer support
representative as well as to other email addresses.

Generate NAS cluster
diagnostics
Use NAS cluster diagnostics to obtain information about the NAS controller.
Information about all NAS controllers will be included in the report.
Because of its size, the NAS diagnostic report can be saved only on the array. This
diagnostic report cannot be emailed to your Dell customer support representative.

PS Series Diagnostics – Select Members
The PS Series Diagnostics – Select Members page appears only if you selected to run PS Series diagnostics on the Getting
Started page. You must select at least one PS Series member to run PS Series diagnostics.

Select checkbox Includes the member in the diagnostic report.
By default, all members are selected. Remove members from the generated report
only if your Dell customer support representative directs you to do so.

The PS Series Diagnostics – Report Destination page appears only if you selected PS Series diagnostics on the Getting Started
page.
