If you enable this policy (the default) on a member with a single control module, the
cache uses write-through mode if the charge on the cache battery is low or if the
cache-to-ash module (on some array models) might not be able to back up the
memory contents to ash.

NOTE: For certain PS Series models that do not support write-through mode, not all cache control options are available.

Merge Storage Pools Panel

Field Description
Select the destination pool for the
merge
Lists the available storage pools. You can merge any storage pool, except the default pool,
into another pool. Merging a pool into a destination pool moves the pool members and
volume data into the destination pool. The group then deletes the empty pool.

General settings
Name Displays the current name of the volume collection.
(Optional) Enter a new name for the volume. Name can be up to 63 bytes and is
case-insensitive. You can use any printable Unicode character except for ! " # $ % &
' ( ) * + , / ; < = > ?@ [ \ ] ^ _ ` { | } ~. First and last characters cannot be a period,
hyphen, or colon. Fewer characters are accepted for this eld if you type the value
as a Unicode character string, which takes up a variable number of bytes, depending
on the specic character.

Description (Optional) Enter a description of the volume collection. Alt+D

Pick up to 8 volumes Lists available volumes that can be placed into a collection. Add or remove volumes to
modify the collection.
number of 8 volumes picked Displays the number of volumes selected to be in the volume collection.
