Name (Optional) Contact name for the account, up to 63 characters. Fewer characters are
accepted for this eld if you type the value as a Unicode character string, which
takes up a variable number of bytes, depending on the specic character.

Modify Client Network Dialog Box
Client computers use the client network to access NAS storage. Dell recommends that you connect all the client network interfaces
and distribute the connections across stacked network switches for high availability.
For security, Dell recommends that the client network be in a dierent subnet from the SAN network.
The Modify Client Network dialog box includes the following tabs:

VLAN ID Default is 0. Limits are 1–4094.
Netmask Netmask of the NAS cluster, which identies the subnet
to which the NAS cluster IP address belongs

Default Gateway Gateway that allows the client access across multiple
subnets. For NAS controller failovers to work, the default
gateway IP address must be reachable from host in the
client network.

Virtual IP addresses
Enter up to 8 IP
addresses
IP address of the NAS cluster, which client computers
use to access the SMB shares and NFS exports hosted
by the NAS cluster.
If the client network is a routed network, you can modify
the client network conguration and add more NAS
cluster IP addresses for proper load balancing across
multiple client subnets. The total number of NAS cluster
IP addresses depends on the bonding mode and NAS
appliance models.
