Table Of Contents
Field Description
Members Lists any members associated to the snapshot. These members have snapshot space
reserved.
Volume distribution
RAID preference Displays one of the following congurations:
Automatic — Indicates that the RAID conguration is the same as that of the pool
containing the volume.
RAID 50 — Recommended situation: Applications requiring an optimal combination of
performance, availability, and capacity.
RAID 10 — Recommended situation: Applications and workloads requiring the highest
levels of I/O performance for random writes.
RAID 6 — Recommended situation: I/O performance for random writes is not a key
factor. Applications requiring the highest level of data protection and reliability.
RAID 6-Accelerated — Recommended situation: Optimal for the use of solid state
drives for critical data.
RAID 5 — Dell recommends against using RAID 5 for any business-critical data,
although it might be required for certain applications, depending on performance and
data availability requirements. RAID 5 carries higher risks of encountering an
uncorrectable drive error during a rebuild, and therefore does not oer optimal data
protection. RAID 5 can be congured only with the CLI.
Load balancing Indicates whether the volume is enabled or disabled for load balancing. If enabled, load
balancing identies the RAID level that provides the best performance for a volume and
stores volume data on pool members with that RAID level, if such members are available.
Distribution of volume across
members
Lists the group members across which the volume and its snapshots are spread
Shared space with template (Thin clone volumes only) Space that the thin clone shares with the template volume
Unshared space (Thin clone volumes only) Space that is storing data unique to the thin clone
Free space (Thin clone volumes only) Unused capacity in the thin clone
Snapshot Compression
Expanded Size The space required if all compressed snapshots in that volume were rehydrated.
Compressed Size The space currently being used by all compressed snapshots in that volume.
Space Savings The amount of space saved by compression; the dierence between the Expanded Size
and the Compressed Size.
Volume Collections Panel
Table 539. Volume Collections Panel
Field Description
Total volume collections Number of volume collections on the group
Collection or volume Name of the volume collection and the list of the volumes in that collection
Storage pool Name of the storage pool where the volume collection resides
Reported size Capacity seen by iSCSI initiators that represents the maximum amount of space that the
group can allocate to the volume or volume collectio
