• The shutdown and description commands are the only commands that you can configure on an
interface that is a member of a port-channel.
• Use the show interfaces description command to display descriptions configured for each interface.
Related Commands show interfaces description — displays the description field of the interfaces.
duplex (1000/10000 Interfaces)
Configure duplex mode on any physical interfaces where the speed is set to 1000/10000.
Syntax
duplex {half | full}
To return to the default setting, use the no duplex command.
Parameters
half Enter the keyword half to set the physical interface to transmit only in one direction.
full Enter the keyword full to set the physical interface to transmit in both directions.
Defaults Not configured.

Usage Information This command applies to any physical interface with speed set to 1000/10000.
NOTE: Starting with the Dell Networking OS version 7.8.1.0, when you use a copper SFP2 module with
catalog number GP-SFP2-1T in the S25P module, you can manually set its speed with the speed
command. When you set the speed to 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps, you can also execute the duplex
command.

speed (for 1000/10000/auto interfaces) — sets the speed on the Base-T Ethernet interface.
negotiation auto — enables or disables auto-negotiation on an interface.
flowcontrol
Control how the system responds to and generates 802.3x pause frames on 10G stack units.
Syntax
flowcontrol rx {off | on} tx {off | on} [negotiate] [monitor session-ID]
Parameters
rx on Enter the keywords rx on to process the received flow control frames on this port. This
is the default value for the receive side.
rx off Enter the keywords rx off to ignore the received flow control frames on this port.
tx on Enter the keywords tx on to send control frames from this port to the connected
device when a higher rate of traffic is received. This is the default value on the send side.
