Connecting a VLT Domain
To connect a VLT domain to an attached access device, use the following commands.
For more information, refer to Verifying a VLT Conguration.
1. Congure the VLT domain with the same ID in VLT peer 1 and VLT peer 2.
VLT DOMAIN
vlt domain domain id
2. Congure the VLTi between VLT peer 1 and VLT peer 2. LACP/Static LAG can be congured between the peer units (not
shown).
CONFIGURATION mode
interface port-channel port-channel id
NOTE: To benet from the protocol negotiations, Dell Networking recommends conguring VLTs used as facing
hosts/switches with LACP. Both peers must use the same port channel ID.
3. Congure the peer-link port-channel in the VLT domains of each peer unit.
INTERFACE PORTCHANNEL mode
channel-member
4. Congure the backup link between the VLT peer units. Congure the peer 2 management ip/ interface ip for which
connectivity is present in VLT peer 1.
EXEC Privilege mode
show running-config vlt
5. Congure the peer 1 management ip/ interface ip for which connectivity is present in VLT peer 1.
EXEC mode or EXEC Privilege mode
show interfaces interface
6. Congure the VLT links between VLT peer 1 and VLT peer 2 to the top of rack unit. Congure the static LAG/LACP between
ports connected from VLT peer 1 and VLT peer 2 to the top of rack unit.
EXEC Privilege mode
show running-config entity
7. Congure the VLT peer link port channel id in VLT peer 1 and VLT peer 2.
