You can only configure one (1) primary IP address per interface. You can configure up to 255 secondary
IP addresses on a single interface.
To view all interfaces to see with an IP address assigned, use the
show ip interfaces brief command in the
EXEC mode.
To view IP information on an interface in Layer 3 mode, use the
show ip interface command in the EXEC
Privilege mode.

Management Interfaces
The S4810 system supports the Management Ethernet interface as well as the standard S-Series interface
on any port. Either method can be used to connect to the system.
Configure Management Interfaces on the E-Series and
C-Series and on the S4810
On the E-Series, C-Series, and S4810 the dedicated Management interface provides management access to
the system. You can configure this interface with FTOS, but the configuration options on this interface are
limited. Gateway addresses and IP addresses cannot be configured if it appears in the main routing table of
FTOS. In addition, Proxy ARP is not supported on this interface.
ip address ip-address mask [secondary] INTERFACE Configure a primary IP address and mask on
the interface. The ip-address must be in
dotted-decimal format (A.B.C.D) and the
mask must be in slash format (/xx).

secondary if the IP address
