NOTE: Before starting this procedure, be sure you have a terminal emulation program already installed on
your PC. You will also require appropriate drivers for the USB device in use. Contact Dell Force10 Networks
Technical Support for assistance.
Step Task
1
Power on the PC (XP operating system recommended)

Connect the USB-A end of cable into an available USB port on the PC

Connect the USB-B end of cable into the USB-B console port on the Z9000
4
Power on the Z9000.

Install necessary USB device drivers (internet connection required).
Contact Dell Force10 Networks Technical Support for assistance if necessary.

Open your terminal software emulation program to access the Z9000.

Using the terminal settings shown here, set the terminal connection settings.
9600 baud rate, No parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, No flow control

The CLI command prompt appears (shown below) when you are connected to the Z9000.
