Deploying Dell HBA cards

CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certied service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple

repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team.

Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions

that came with the system.

This document provides a set of high-level installation and removal instructions for the following Dell HBA card controllers:

1 12 Gbps SAS HBA controller

2 HBA330 adapter card

3 HBA330 MMZ adapter card

4 HBA330 MX adapter card

5 HBA330 mini monolithic

Removing a 12 Gbps SAS HBA controller

CAUTION: To ensure protection for the electronic components inside, follow the ElectroStatic Discharge (ESD) guidelines.

1 Turn o the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.

NOTE

2 Disconnect the system from the network.

3 Remove the cover of the system.

4 Locate the PCIe slot.

NOTE

: To avoid damage to the controller, hold the controller by its edges only.
