The Object Storage Servers are the building blocks of the solution. With four dual port 12Gb/s SAS
controllers in each PowerEdge R730, the two servers are redundantly connected to each of the four
PowerVault MD3460 high density storage arrays.
Figure 7 illustrates how each storage array is divided into six RAID 6 virtual disks, with eight data and
two parity disks per virtual disk, using two disks per tray of the array. That yields six Object Storage
