AC-Adapter Connector

CAUTION: Only a certified service technician should perform repairs on your
computer. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by
your warranty.
CAUTION: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist
grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a
connector on your computer).
CAUTION: To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery
(see "Removing the Battery" on page 15) before working inside the computer.
Removing the AC-Adapter Connector

Follow the instructions in "Before You Begin" on page 9.

Follow the instructions from step 2 to step 14 in "Removing the System
Board" on page 77.

Remove the display assembly (see "Removing the Display Assembly" on
page 53).

Remove the hinge cover (see "Removing the Hinge Cover" on page 69).

Remove the VGA connector board (see "Removing the VGA Connector
Board" on page 73).

Note the AC-adapter connector cable routing and remove the cable from
the routing guides.

Remove the screw that secures the AC-adapter connector to the computer
base.

Lift the AC-adapter connector off the computer base.
