Removing the touchpad

Prerequisites

1. Remove the base cover.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Remove the status-light board.

Procedure

1. Open the latch, and then disconnect the touchpad cable from the system board.

2. Peel off the touchpad cable from the touchpad.

3. Peel off the tape that secures the touchpad assembly to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.

4. Remove the four screws (M2x2) that secure the touchpad to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.

5. Lift the touchpad at an angle off the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
