SSD Heat-sink
Removing the SSD heat-sink
Prerequisites
1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your tablet.
2. Remove the batteries.
3. Remove the display assembly.
About this task
The figure indicates the location of the heat sink and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
1. Remove the five (M2X3) screws that secure the SSD heat-sink to the system board.
NOTE: Remove the screws in the order of the callout numbers [1,2,3,4,5] as indicated on the SSD heat-sink.
NOTE: Ensure not to bend the heat-sink pipe while removing the heat-sink from the SSD. Do not remove the heat-sink
by pulling on the pipe. Carefully pry the cover from the SSD using a plastic scribe.
2. Lift the heat-sink away from the system board.
NOTE: The SSD thermal pad adheres to the underside of the SSD heat-sink.

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
