1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer.
2. Loosen the captive screw securing the memory module cover, then remove the cover and set it aside.
3. Use your fingertips to carefully spread apart the metal clips securing each end of the memory module until the module pops up.
4. Remove the memory module from the connector at a 45-degree angle.

NOTICE: If you leave the area, ground yourself again when you return to the computer.

NOTICE: To prevent damage to the memory module connector, do not use tools of any kind to spread the metal clips that secure the module.

NOTICE: If you need to install memory modules in two connectors, install a memory module in DIMM A before you install a module in DIMM B.
NOTE: For optimal performance, identical memory modules should be used in each connector.
