Overlap Port Ranges
The following is an example showing how the interface-range prompt extends a port range from the smallest start port number to the
largest end port number when port ranges overlap. handles overlapping port ranges.
Example of the Interface-Range Prompt for Overlapping Port Ranges
DellEMC(conf)#interface range gigabitethernet 2/1 - 2/11 , gi 2/1 - 2/23
DellEMC(conf-if-range-gi-2/1-23)#
Commas
The following is an example of how to use commas to add dierent interface types to a range of interfaces.
Example of Adding Interface Ranges
DellEMC(config-if)# interface range gigabitethernet 5/1 - 23, gigabitethernet 1/1 - 1/2
DellEMC(config-if-range-gi-5/1-23,gi1/1-1/2)# no shutdown
DellEMC(config-if-range-gi-5/1-23,gi1/1-1/2)#
Add Ranges
The following example shows how to use commas to add VLAN and port-channel interfaces to the range.
Example of Adding VLAN and Port-Channel Interface Ranges
DellEMC(config-if-range-gi-1/1-1/2)# interface range Vlan 2 – 100 , Port 1 – 25
DellEMC(config-if-range-gi-1/1-1/2-vl-2-100-po-1-25)# no shutdown
Dening Interface Range Macros
You can dene an interface-range macro to automatically select a range of interfaces for conguration.
Before you can use the macro keyword in the interface-range macro command string, dene the macro.
To dene an interface-range macro, use the following command.
Denes the interface-range macro and saves it in the running conguration le.
CONFIGURATION mode
define interface-range macro_name {vlan vlan_ID - vlan_ID | {{gigabitethernet |
tengigabitethernet} slot/port - slot/port}} [ , {vlan vlan_ID - vlan_ID | {{gigabitethernet |
tengigabitethernet} slot/port - slot/port}]
Dene the Interface Range
The following example shows how to dene an interface-range macro named “test” to select Ten Gigabit Ethernet interfaces 5/1 through
5/4.
Example of the define interface-range Command for Macros
DellEMC(config)# define interface-range test gigabitethernet 5/1 - 5/4
Choosing an Interface-Range Macro
To use an interface-range macro, use the following command.
Selects the interfaces range to be congured using the values saved in a named interface-range macro.
