Supported Devices

This section lists the devices that can be tested using Dell Online

Diagnostics.

Diagnostics for Tape Drives, Autoloaders,

and Libraries

NOTE: Install Dell-qualified device drivers to run diagnostic tests on tape drives,

tape autoloaders, and tape libraries. See the documentation that accompanied

your device. The latest device drivers are available at the Dell Support website at

support.dell.com.

NOTE: On Linux operating systems, diagnostic tests for SATA hard-disks and

controllers are not available.

Diagnostics for RAID Controllers, SAS

Controllers, SCSI Controllers, and Attached Hard

Drives

NOTE: For a list of firmware requirements that are required for each controller,

see "Diagnostic Dependencies for Supported RAID Controllers."

NOTE: See the online help on Dell Online Diagnostics, for more information

on controller-specific tests (for example, the Battery test for PERC 4e/DC, PERC 5/i,

and PERC 6/i.)

This section lists the diagnostics supported on systems running

Microsoft Windows, Red Hat

Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise

Server, or VMware ESX. Online Diagnostics supports diagnostics for the

following RAID, SAS, and SCSI controllers as well as for the hard drives that

are attached to RAID, SCSI, and IDE controllers, depending on the installed

operating system.

NOTE: Online Diagnostics does not run diagnostic tests on IDE controllers.
