• If both filename.sha256 and filename.md5 are present, SHA256 validation has a higher priority compared with MD5
validation.
• If filename.sha256 or filename.md5 alone is present, the corresponding type of validation is completed.
b When you enable FIPs mode:
• MD5 validation is not used. BMP checks only for the filename.sha256 and not filename.md5.
• If filename.sha256 is present, it uses SHA256 validation or the image downloads without SHA256 validation.

BMP Mode: Boot and Set-UP Behavior
When you congure a switch to reload in BMP mode, one of the following scenarios may occur.
• Reload Without a DHCP Server Oer
• Reload with a DHCP Server Oer Without a Dell EMC Networking OS Oer
• Reload with a DHCP Server Oer and no Conguration File
• Reload with a DHCP Server Oer Without a DNS Server
• Pre-conguration Scripts
• Post-conguration Scripts
• Auto-Execution Scripts
Reload Without a DHCP Server Oer
A switch is congured to reload in BMP mode. If the DHCP server cannot be reached, the system keeps on sending DISCOVER messages.
