Using Server Administrator
Starting Your Server Administrator Session
To start a Server Administrator session, click the Dell OpenManage Server
Administrator icon on your desktop.
The Server Administrator Log in screen displays. The default port for
Dell OpenManage Server Administrator is 1311. You can change the port,
if required. See "Dell Systems Management Server Administration
Connection Service and Security Setup" for instructions on setting up your
system preferences.
Logging In and Out
OpenManage Server Administrator provides three types of logins. These are:
• Server Administrator Local System Login
• Server Administrator Managed System Login
• Central Web Server Login
Server Administrator Local System Login
This login is available only if you install the Server Instrumentation and
Server Administrator Web Server components on the local system.
Use this login window to log in to Server Administrator on a local system:

Type your preassigned
Username
and
Password
in the appropriate fields on
the Systems Management
Log in
window.
If you are accessing Server Administrator from a defined domain, you also
must specify the correct
Domain
name.

If your system is running a Microsoft Windows operating system and is a
member of the Windows domain, select a domain from the domain list.

Select the
Active Directory Login
check box to log in using Microsoft
Active Directory. See "Using the Active Directory Login" on page 46.
