hold-time
Specify a delay (in seconds) before a switch becomes the MASTER virtual router. By delaying the initialization of the VRRP
MASTER, the new switch can stabilize its routing tables.
C9000 Series
Syntax
hold-time {seconds | centisecs centisecs}
To return to the default value, use the no hold-time command.
Parameters
seconds Enter the number of seconds. The range is from 0 to 65535. The default is zero
(0) seconds.
centisecs
centisecs
Enter the keyword centisecs then the number of centisecs in units of 25
centisecs . The range is from 0 to 65525 in units of 25 centisecs.
Defaults zero (0) seconds or or (0) centiseconds

Information
If a switch is a MASTER and you change the hold timer, disable and re-enable VRRP for the new hold
timer value to take effect.

To prohibit preemption, use the no preempt command.
Defaults Enabled (that is, a BACKUP router can preempt the MASTER router).
