Usage
Information
The following example shows two VLANs that are associated with a private VLAN (PVLAN) (refer to
Private VLAN (PVLAN)).
If you have entered the clear arp-cache command to remove a large number of ARP entries and the
command is still being processed in the background, an error message display if you attempt to enter the
show arp command:
Clear arp in-progress. Please try after sometime!
The following describes the show arp command shown in the following example.
Description
Protocol Displays the protocol type.
Address Displays the IP address of the ARP entry.
Age(min) Displays the age (in minutes) of the ARP entry.
Hardware
Address
Displays the MAC address associated with the ARP entry.
Interface Displays the first two letters of the interfaces type and the slot/port associated
with the ARP entry.
VLAN Displays the VLAN ID, if any, associated with the ARP entry.
CPU Lists which CPU the entries are stored on.
