cd changes the working directory.
format flash
Erase all existing files and reformat the file system in the internal flash memory or the USB drive. After the file system is
formatted, files cannot be restored.

format {flash: | usbflash:}
From a PE console, use format {flash:filename/path | usbflash: filename/path }
Parameters
flash: | usbflash:
flash: reformat the file system in the internal flash memory.
usbflash: reformat the file system in the USB flash drive.

Usage
Information
Include the colon (:) when entering this command.
CAUTION: This command deletes all files, including the startup configuration file. So, after
executing this command, consider saving the running config as the startup config (use the
write memory command or copy run start command).
You can also use the format command from the port extender (PE) console to erase all files from the
flash or USB flash.
