Installation Notes

If you have installed the Windows Server 2008 (32-bit) operating system

using the Dell™ Systems Build and Update Utility, you will need to manually

install driver Intel_5100-Chipset-Software-_A02_R196223.exe (version A02

or later). You can download this driver through the update utility or from

www.support.dell.com.

Intel

Xeon

Processor 5000 sequence-based server without the most current

integrated Service Pack (SP) will cause a system failure.

If you install the first release (R1) of Windows 2003 without a service pack,

you will receive the following system error:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Perform the following steps to install the most current release of

Windows 2003 Service Pack (SP2) on your system:

Temporarily disable the Demand-Based Power Management setting.

Power on the system.

Press <F2> during startup to enter the System Setup program.

From the Main screen, select

CPU Information

and press <Enter>

to open the

CPU Information

screen.

Select

Demand-Based Power Management

and press the right-arrow

key to change the setting to

Disabled

Press <Esc>, save your changes, and exit the System Setup program

screen.

Prise en charge du mode RAC Lors de l'installation d'une carte RAC (Remote Access Controller) en option sur votre système, il n'est pas possible de connecter le câble MII de la carte RAC à la carte système. Par conséquent, la carte RAC ne prendra pas en charge les modes partagé et de basculement avec votre système. La carte ne peut être configurée que comme port NIC dédié. RAC-Modusunterstützung Bei der Installation einer optionalen RAC-Karte (Remote Access Controller) im System wird die Verbindung des MII-Kabels der RAC-Karte mit der Systemplatine nicht unterstützt. Compatibilidad con el modo de RAC Si instala una tarjeta RAC opcional en el sistema, no se puede conectar el cable MII de la tarjeta RAC a la placa base.
