System memory guidelines
The PowerEdge C6525 system supports DDR4 registered DIMMs (RDIMMs), load reduced DIMMs (LRDIMMs) and 3DS load
reduced DIMMs (3DS LRDIMMs). System memory holds the instructions that are executed by the processor.
Your system contains 16 memory sockets organized into 8 channels per processor.
Memory channels are organized as follows:

Processor Channel A Channel B Channel C Channel D Channel E Channel F Channel G Channel H
Processor 1 A6 A5 A2 A1 A8 A7 A4 A3
Processor 2 B6 B5 B2 B1 B8 B7 B4 B3

NOTE: Mixing of memory module capacities in a system is not supported.
Removing a memory module
Prerequisites
1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions.
2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.
3. Remove the air shroud.
WARNING:
Allow the memory modules to cool after you power off the system. Handle the memory modules by
the card edges and avoid touching the components or metallic contacts on the memory module.
CAUTION: To ensure proper system cooling, memory module blanks must be installed in any memory socket that
is not occupied. Remove memory module blanks only if you intend to install memory modules in those sockets.
Steps
1. Locate the appropriate memory module socket.
CAUTION:
Handle each memory module only by the card edges, ensuring not to touch the middle of the
memory module or metallic contacts.
